Adipurush Review
Adipurush is one film that everyone is excited to know how the film is. The action drama based on Ramayana has hit the screens today and, read our review to find out if the film has any juice in it or not.
Story:
Raghava(Prabhas) and Janaki(Sita) are in exile and live in the forest along with Lakshman. The story is simple when Lakshman cuts off Soorpanakha's nose, Raavan gets angry and kidnaps Janaki. The rest of the story is about how Raghav heads to Lanka and defeats Raavan and gets Sita Devi back
Analysis:
After watching Adipurush, there will be diverse reactions for sure. Some will really like the film whereas others will hate it. Especially, Prabhas fans will be furious for showcasing their star hero in such a silly manner. Om Raut has made modern-day Ramayana which is filled with VFX. So, all those who go in thinking various chapters of Ramayana will be showcased will be disappointed for sure.
One of the major disadvantages of the film is the lack of emotion. The film has a great story and so much emotion could have been drawn from various characters but that does not happen. There is no emotion in the story and many scenes look soulless. But the action part is amazing. Om Raut should be credited for making the film to a Hollywood standard.
Prabhas plays lord Ram in the film. But you will get a feeling that his VFX body rather than the original is being showcased. Most of the time, the star hero is expressionless. Only in action scenes, Prabhas is good. Surely, his fans will be disappointed for showcasing Prabhas in a beautiful manner. Prabhas also has less screen time in the film which is also yet another drawback.
Kriti Sanon as Sita is beautiful but she does not get time to enact much or share screen time. Adipurush is more of Saif Ali Khan and Hanuman's film. Both the character of Hanuman and Raavan are highlighted and the actors do a solid job. The rest of the cast is weak and most of them are VFX animals.
The music by Ajay Atul is amazing and is the saving grace of the film. Saif as Raavan is made to look like a joke after a while. The VFX are great but they look overdone in many areas. One would expect Lanka filled with water and greenery but that does not happen. It is shown as a dark place with no one living. The 3D effect is good and the Telugu dialogues are also next. The production design and costumes were also good.
Verdict:
The main motto of Adipurush was to re-create Ramayan but Om Raut has made it into an action drama and kept the theme the same. If you think the film will have a great Story of Ramayana and go to the theaters you will be disappointed. If you think of it as a stylized action drama to be watched on the big screen, Adiprush will surely entertain you and now the choice is yours.
