Paruchuri Murali has said that he doesn't believe in writing stories inspired by contemporary politics. He said this in the context of an uninformed presumption about the setting and premise of Adhinayakudu. Brushing aside the rumour that his up-and-coming movie makes many references to the political/leadership situation in the State, the director told a Telugu daily that the film reflects the present day reality in the last 20 minutes. Otherwise, it is essentially a figment of imagination and a filmi story born for Balayya babu.

Adhinayakudu was not tailor made for Balakrishna. Far from it. It was the other way round. After Murali was done with writing a mass story indulging three purposive characters spanning three generations, he zeroed in on Balakrishna because he was convinced that only he could do justice to all the three difficult roles. To his glee, Yuva Ratna instantly liked the story. Rest is history-in-making.

Since he had worked with director Sharath, he had the chance watch Balakrishna from close quarters. He had known his style and used the knowledge to the fullest for directing him in Adhinayakudu.

The film is set to release very soon.
