Adda Music Review

After delivering a hat-trick in 2012, Anoop Rubens has been on a high.  Not letting down his fans, he topped the achievement with Gunde Jaari Gallanthayyinde this year.  It is time to brace up for another good one from hin.

Adda has the usual Anoop flavour.  Baba Sehgal, Sreeram Chandra and Vijay Prakash, among others, entertain.

Lyricist: Krishna Chaitanya

With Baba Sehgal becoming a preferred choice of musicians, Anoop Rubens selects him to sing the title track.  Along with Prithvi, Dhanunjay and Ramky, he delivers a dekko performance as usual.  Musically, it works fine given Rubens' knack for instrumentation.  Krishna Chaitanya's lyrics give a voice to a dynamic youth.

Lyricist: Srimani

Rubens is not given to experimentation but he is quite an expert at mixing influences.  The song stands out for Nikhil's vocals.  Srimani liberally uses quite a few English words, sadly giving it a routine and mundane flavor.

Hay Mister Hay Mister   Listen here

Artists: Suchitra, Dhanunjay
Lyricist: Ramajogayya Sastry

The song is nothing new but it is electrifying.  `Hay Mister' is a rehash of Rubens' previous tunes perhaps.  The song picks pace somewhere after the first minute.  Suchitra's vocals lend it a touch of uniqueness.  Dhanunjay does justice.  Ramajogayya Sastry's lyrics come with a simple yet appealing sense.

Lyricist: Srimani

An advantage with this kind of tuning is that, such songs elevate the mood to a new high if the filming is good.  Then there is Srimani's cool lyrics, he does quite a good job, especially with the line where the boy says what the girl's zero-size waistline has done to him.  Sreeram Chandra's wonderful vocals complete the success story.

Artists: Ritu Pathak, Santhosh, Ramki
Lyricist: Ramajogayya Sastry

This is a routine song and Ritu Pathak's vocals do not help much.  Santosh and Ramki choruse quite a few of Ramajogayya Sastry's lyrics with gusto.  The item song feel runs through the song.  Rubens does an average job.

Artists: Vijay Prakash
Lyricist: Ananth Sriram

Though the melancholic tune does seem to have shades of a few songs, Anoop Rubens exercises his tremendous musical sense by choosing Vijay Prakash, whose vocals are perhaps the album's best.  Ananth Sriram's lyrics long for the voice of a longing lover.
