Selvaraghavan is known for giving substantial roles for his female leads in all his films and all the actresses who have worked with him right from his debut rate his films as their career-best. The 2016 film 'Maalai Nerathu Mayakkam' had story and screenplay by Selva and was directed by his wife Geethanjali Selvaraghavan which had newcomers Balakrishna Kola and Wamiqa Gabbi as the leads.

Wamiqa Gabbi's next release is titled 'Galwakdi' in which she is paired opposite the current heartthrob of Punjabi cinema Tarsem Jassar. Her next Tamil film is the long-delayed 'Iravakaalam' directed by Ashwin Saravanan and produced by Sri Thenandal Studios which also stars S.J. Suryah and Sshivada.
