Kollywood and fans of popular television actress and hostess VJ Chithra woke up this morning to the shocking news of her untimely death at the age of 29 after her body was found in a hotel bathroom on the outskirts of Chennai. The initial reports suggest that she died by suicide in the early hours of Wednesday after returning to the hotel from a shooting at the EVP Studios.

Chithra's fiance Hemanth Kumar with whom she was engaged to in August this year was also staying with her in the hotel and he has stated to the police that she had come back in a depressed mood from the shoot and told him she needed a bath and locked herself in the bathroom. After a very long time when she did not return and did not respond to him he had called the hotel management for help and they opened the door with a spare key to find her hanging using her saree.

Hemanth has also revealed that contrary to the public belief they were not only engaged but also had a registered marriage on October 19th. Chithra had shared to her social media fans that her marriage will take place soon but her fiance has already said to have submitted documents regarding their marriage.

An RDO investigation has been pressed into action based on the statements of Hemanth Kumar to ascertain the exact reason for the death of VJ Chithra whose photographs and videos on Instagram did not disclose any strife in her face. Her cellphone is also being probed for any clues.

Further unconfirmed reports suggest that there are bruises on Chithra's face and a part of her body and further her mother has stated tearfully that her daughter is a bold personality and will never take such a decision and suspects foul play.
