Kamal Haasan one of the most celebrated actors ever in Indian cinema has also proved his staying power in politics. When he started his Makkal Needhi Maiam in February 2018, analysts predicted that it will be dissolved in a matter of months. The defiant stalwart has proved his detractors wrong by continuing to lead his party into its sixth year.

Meanwhile popular character actress and social activist Vinodhini Vaidyanathan has announced that she has joined the Makkal Needhi Maiam party. In a hilarious poetry form she has posted a skit on Twitter in which she has imagined herself in conversation with God (Fans call Kamal, Aandavar). When God asks the mortal why she didnt chose a Hindu outfit eventhough she is a staunch Hindu she replies that she does not have money to check if audio and video devices are planted in her house. That is a scathing dig at the Annamalai led BJP Tamil Nadu. She has also called out the DMK for deviating from its core principals of rationality and atheism.

The theater trained actress recently impressed in a noticeable role in Mani Ratnam's 'Ponniyin Selvan' films. Kamal on the other hand is gearing up for the final leg of shooting of Shankar's 'Indian 2' His upcoming commitments include 'KH 233' directed by H. Vinoth, 'Project K' directed by Nag Ashwin and 'KH 234' directed by Mani Ratnam apart from his hosting duties for 'Bigg Boss Tamil 7' set to begin in a few week's time on Vijay TV.
