Actress Vimala Raman made her debut in the Tamil film industry with 'Poi' the hundreth film by legendary director K. Balachander. However she gained fame playing the lead role opposite Cheran in 'Raman Thediya Seethai' directed by Jagan. Post that she has appeared in many Malayalam, Telugu and Tamil films.

On January 23rd Vimala celebrated her 42nd birthday in Sydney Australia with her parents. She shared pics from their beach house and wrote "And this time it was a special birthday so grateful to spend it with my family back home." What surprised netizens is the presence of actor Vinay Rai.

A few months back it was rumoured that Vinay and Vimala are dating and both did not deny it. It is said that the couple met during the sets of 'Dam 999' and have been seeing each other since then. Now on her special day the Australian born actress has finally confirmed their relationship by addressing them as family.

Vinay Rai was recently seen as Nayanthara's husband in 'Connect' and he is currently starring as the chief antagonist in 'Diesel' starring Harish Kalyan and Atulya Ravi in the lead. Vimala Raman's recent films in Tamil are 'Iruttu' costarring Sundar C and 'Grandma' costarring Sonya Agarwal and Pournami.
