Actress Vijaylakshmi attained fame after playing a lead role opposite Vijay and Suriya in 'Freinds' and also in Arya-Santhanam's 'Boss Engira Bhaskaran. She is now settled in Bengaluru and for the past several years has been in the news for attempting suicide after her father's death and also the breaking of her engagement to a Kannada actor.
Recently Vijayalakshmi was hospitalized due to an undisclosed ailment for two months and the actress had lodged a complaint against actor Ravi Prakash for helping her by paying one lakh for hospital expenses but later misbehaving with her. She has now sought the help of media alleging that the Kannada actors and police are unnecessarily harassing her because she is a Tamil girl and that she feels trapped by them. Vijayalakshmi has requested the Tamil film fraternity to help her pay back her debts of one lakh rupees and relocate to Chennai.
