Three persons killed in Actress-politician's car accident

A young lady doctor Smitha Kutty who was being treated in intensive care after a gruesome car crash lost her life on Saturday taking the toll to three. On November 21st a car belonging to actress turned politician Umashree driven by her driver Krishnakumar crashed into another car at Pandiwada in Uppali Taluk in Karnataka. Smitha's mother Shobha Kutty and driver Sandeep Vibudhimat lost their lives on the spot while the doctor who worked as a health inspector was rushed to a private hospital where she fought for her life for one week before succumbing.
Umashree a veteran of over 400 films in the Kannada language mainly as a comedian later switched to politics and served as a Minister of Women and Child Welfare during the congress rule under chief minister Siddharamaiya. She visited the hospital and consoled the family of the bereaved and injured and also her driver Krsihnakumar who sustained injuries as well. A case has been registered and is being followed by the Uppali police.
