Bollywood actress Swara Bhasker has been trolled incessantly on Twitter and other social media platforms ever since she on Tuesday claimed that a bigot was forcing a man from a particular religion to chant 'Jai Shri Ram' in a muted video. The video has been taken down by many after it was established that there was no attack on the victim to force him to chant a religious slogan. The attack was for a non-religious reason. The Uttar Pradesh police have denounced the attempt at painting communal colours to the fringe incident.

Swara Bhasker, in her tweet, lamented that Sanghis (a reference to BJP and RSS sympathizers) were vomiting on her timeline after the UP police had named three Muslims as assaulters. The actress repeated that the prime accused is a Pravesh Gujjar. She further said, "The man is on camera forcing the old man to chant #JaiShriRam. Yes, it is a desecration of my God and my religion and I’m ashamed.. as shud you be (sic)," Swara added.

Since then, thousands of social media users have urged the police to book the 'Veere Di Wedding' actress for allegedly stoking communal fires. Bollywood filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri noted that Swara Bhasker has never left an opportunity to spread hateful lies. From the Kathua rape incident to the JNU issue and the CAA fracas to the Delhi riots in 2020, said the filmmaker, the 'Prem Ratan Dhan Payo' actress has spread fake news every time.
