Actress Subhashri was well known during the nineties as a glamorous heroine who has featured in many South Indian language films. In Tamil she has acted in Shankar's debut movie 'Gentleman', Superstar Rajinikanth's 'Muthu' and Prashanth's 'Enga Thambi'.
Subhashri is especially famous for her dance for the A.R. Rahman song 'Paakaathy Paakathey" and also for her glamour cum comedy scenes with Gaundmani and Senthil. Through her character, the adult games "Tikkiloona", "Coupling" and "Spooling" became a rage during the time of the release of 'Gentleman'.
Subhashri who has acted in several Telugu and Kannada films has been away from the limelight since 1998. A recent photo of her has surfaced on the internet and she is virtually unrecognizable having put on much more weight than when she was active in cinema which has come as a bit of a shock to her fans.
In the photo, Subhashri's sister Malashri, one of the most prominent actresses in Kannada cinema is also seen along with other friends and family members.
