The ever young actress Sridevi turns 52 today.

Sridevi entered the film industry as a child artist and starred in Tamil and Telugu films. She debuted as a heroine was K.Balachander directed `Moondru Mudichu` in which she starred opposite Kamal Haasan and Rajinikanth. From then on she rose to the female superstar status in the South Indian film industry by continuously acting in super hit films with various stars and great directors. Though her mainstay was commercial films she made it a point to take up performance oriented roles and did justice to every role she took up. She has won many awards also.

After ruling the Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam film industries until the mid 1980s, she moved to Bollywood and became a dream girl of the Hindi Heartland too. In 1996 she settled down in married life with Bollywood Producer Boney Kapoor and is a mother of two teen girls now.

She made her silver screen comeback with the critically acclaimed super hit Bollywood film English Vinglish`. In Tamil her comeback venture would be the Vijay starrer fantasy adventure Puli` in which she plays the role of a queen. The film is expected to hit the screens in September.
