Actress Sithara who made her acting debut in 1986 with the Malayalam film 'Kaveri' continues to top the list of the favorite actresses in the south Indian Cinema. The actress rose to fame with her Tamil debut 'Puthu Vasantham' directed by Vikraman. Ever since that she has completed more than a hundred films in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam opposite most of the top heroes.

Sithara who is 47 years now chose to remain single. In a recent TV interview with Telugu media, the actress for the first time revealed why she chose to not marry. Sithara has stated that she took the decision not to marry at a very young age and has stuck to it. She further added that she was very fond of her dad Parameshwaran Nair who passed away and after that, she further lost interest in settling down and is happy being single.

Sithara is now on a comeback spree in all South Indian languages and television serials and is open to offers in character roles.
