Simran's emotional message to her sister actress Monal on her 20th death anniversary

Actress Simran who made her Tamil debut in the Sivaji Ganesan-Vijay starrer 'Once More' in 1997 raced to the top as the leading South Indian heroine of the time. She was the hailed as the best pair for all the heroes such as Vijay, Ajith, Suriya, Madhavan, Prashanth, Prabhu Deva and Abbas.
Simran's younger sister Monal also followed in her footsteps and made her debut opposite Thalapathy Vijay in 'Badri' in 2000 at the age of 20. She also played the female lead in 'Paarvai Ondre Podhume', 'Lovely', 'Samudhiram', 'Charlie Chaplin' and 'Pesadha Kannum Pesume'.
On 14th April 2002 the film industry was shocked when Monal was found hanging in her apartment. Only a few hours earlier she had attended the launch of one of her new films as heroine titled 'Pei Janmam'. Simran had at that time accused a dance choreographer of dating the 21 year old Monal and then suddenly breaking up with her.
Simran took to Twitter to remember Monal on her 20th death anniversary. She wrote "I may not have you here, but I know we will always have each other. Though it's been 20 years, a little bit of you always lives in me. We all miss you, Monu. Forever."
Simran is currently starring in Vikram's 'Dhruva Natchathiram', Madhavan's 'Rocketry The Nambi Effect', Prashanth's 'Andhagan', Arya's 'Captain' and Arvind Swamy's 'Vanangamudi'.
