A 32 year old actress has been arrested in connection with the murder of her own brother who was cut in pieces and various parts of the body were disposed off in different places. Actress Shanaya Katwe has acted in a few films in Kannada and was involved in the promotions of her latest movie when she was arrested by the Hubballi rural police.

It is said that Shanaya Katwe was in love with accused number one Niyazahemed Katigar aged 21 which was opposed by her brother Rakesh Katwe. It is said that they decided to do away with the brother and hatched a plan.

When the actress was busy promoting her movie Niyazahemed Katigar and his henchmen Tousif Channapur (21), Altaf Mulla (24), and Aman Giraniwale (19) entered the house where Rakesh was alone and strangled him to death. They also decapitated the head and threw it in the Devaragudihal forest area, while his remaining body parts were disposed of across Gadag Road and other areas in Hubballi.

The police investigation started after the head of Rakesh was found by the locals and the trail led straight to the model and actress and her much younger lover. All five are now in police custody.

Shanaya made her acting debut with the 2018 Kannada drama film 'Idam Premam Jeevanam', directed by Raghavanka Prabhu. Her 2021 release includes 'Ondu Ghanteya Kathe'.
