Actress Shakeela during the nineties starred in several soft porn Malayalam films which were blockbuster hits at the time challenging even Mohan Lal and Mammootty's big budget flicks. In 2002 she announced that she will not be starring in any more such films and switched to character roles.

Shakeela recently announced that she has adopted a daughter Milla and introduced her on the 'Cooku With Comali' season two show. Milla a costume designer also posted pics on her social media page and has gained the limelight recently.

It has been revealed that Milla was a man during her early days and has acted in Tamil serials 'Thyagam' and 'Marudhani' telecast on Sun TV. She had then become transgender and was adopted by Shakeela. Both Shakeela and Milla have been hugely supportive of each other in their times of struggles and are now one of the most popular mother-daughter duos in the Tamil entertainment space.
