Actress Shakeela who forayed into films at a young age to support her parents and siblings struggled to make it big. in the early nineties, she got the chance to act in an adult Malayalam movie which became a super hit and she did several A certificate films in the language for the next decade or so.

Shakeela's popularity soared to such an extent that even superstars Mammootty and Mohan Lal's new films suffered collections if her film was released at the same time. In 2002 she announced that she will not be starring in any more such films and switched to character roles.

Now after a long time Shakeela has come back into the limelight through the 'Cooku With Comali' show and her image has completely changed and everyone now considers her as a motherly figure. She is also turning out to be an awesome cook and is expected to reach the finals and even win the title as well.

A few years back Shakeela adopted a transgender girl Milla and has brought her up and in one of the episodes of 'Cooku With Comali' she introduced her to the contestants and the viewers.

Milla has posted pics of herself with 'Cooku With Comali' star Ashwin and has captioned it "Brother from another mother" and the post has gone viral. Truly the stars of this reality show are the ruling celebrities currently.
