Actress Saranya Sasi played the lead heroine in the movie 'Pachai Engira Kaathu' directed by Keera in 2010 but the film, unfortunately, got a delayed-release several years later and she did not find the recognition she deserved. She later acted in a few Malayalam films and then moved to serials and was praised for her role as Kanya in the award winning drama serial 'Karuthamuthu'. The serial is now remade in Tamil as 'Bharathi Kanamma' and is enjoying a good run on Vijay TV.
Saranya in 2012 suffered from a brain tumor and had to undergo seven surgeries after that and in April this year part of her body was paralyzed. She has been bedridden since then and is now on the path to recovery.
Saranya recently underwent physiotherapy at Peace Valley Hospital in Kothamangalam in Kerala and is now able to walk and talk clearly. A video of the actress leaving the hospital is also doing the rounds on social media.
With back to back surgeries and medical expenses, the actress has been facing financial crisis. Saranya was the sole breadwinner of the family and that it has become difficult for them to manage the household expenses and the educational expenses of her younger siblings, a brother and a sister.
Several celebs financially helped the actress during her initial surgeries, but it became difficult for everyone to continue. However, it was actress Seema G Nair who supported the actress ever since she was bedridden. From providing shelter to taking care of her expenses, Seema stood beside Sharanya throughout her battle. Netizens are lauding the duo's friendship and pouring wishes for the actress.
