Senior officer clarifies about actress Sanam Shetty's allegations

An airport official has reacted to the startling complaint made by actress Sanam Shetty, one of the former contestants of 'Bigg Boss'. The incident has caused a sensation on social media. Earlier Sanam had posted a video on her Instagram page relating a bitter experience she had at the airport.
Sanam stated "When I arrived at the airport to fly to Chennai from Coimbatore,a female officer searched only my handbag and the bags of two people belonging to a particular religion. When asked for an explanation, the officer said that the search was being conducted on the occasion of the Republic Day celebrations."
The 'Bigg Boss Tamil 4' star questioned whether those two people only can take dangerous weopens on the flight and others will not. She found it humiliating when the search is done just on mere suspicion. Sanam wrote alongside the video "@airindia.in stop discriminating based on name, religion, dress code. What's your criteria for random checks?".
Senthil Valavan, the director of the Coimbatore Airport, has clarified that in view of the Republic Day celebrations across the country, it has been advised to conduct random checsk as a precautionary measure. He denie that any specific people have been selected and checked, as alleged by actress Sanam Shetty. Hwever, he has ordered an investigationbased on her complaint.
