Actress Sameera Reddy has made a strong imprint in the minds of the audiences in all the films that she has done and especially in Tamil her song "Nenjukkull Peithidum Maamazhai" with Suriya in GVM's 'Vaaranam Aayiram' remains an all-time favorite.
Sameera in her most recent interview has shared details of her unsavory experiences in the Bollywood film industry where she was affected by not only nepotism but also a forced kiss and a hero indirectly hinting about casting couch.
According to Sameera, she was booked for a film and suddenly there was a call from her producer and when she went to his office he told her point-blank that she has been replaced in the film due to her lack of talent. This incident had obviously hurt Sameera who began to doubt her own abilities. But only later she came to know that the real reason was that the producers signed a big star's daughter in her place and to hide nepotism they tried to brand her as untalented.
The next incident was when Sameera was acting in another film the director asked her to do a kiss scene with the hero which was not in the original script. When she refused the man had pointed out that she did a similar scene in the film 'Musafir' and asked her to repeat it. When she still said that she does not want to do the same in this film necessarily she was threatened of losing the role completely if she did not comply.
In yet another shocking incident Sameera added that one of the heroes she was working with hinted to her about casting couch by telling her that she was ‘boring’ and ‘unapproachable’ and that he didn't want to work with her again. Since she did not fall for it Sameera was never cast in a movie with that hero since that.
Sameera has stated "The whole game is like snakes and ladders. So you need to know how to move around the snakes and make your way. I would never party or hang out with the actors post my shoot. I would head back home and rather watch TV. I never really socialized and I know that helps a lot in getting films. But it’s fine. It’s the nature of the business,”
