The trailer of the new web series 'The Family Man 2' released on May 19th has raised expectations for it and fans are waiting to watch it on Amazon Prime Video from June 4th when it will start streaming. The series has Manoj Bajpayee and Priya Mani reprising their roles from the original and Samantha Akkineni is playing the chief antagonist which is the major highlight.
The trailer of 'The Family Man 2' directed by Raj and DK shows Samantha playing the character of a Tamil extremist militant called Rajji who has connections to Pakistan's ISI and is gearing up for a terror attack. Already netizens started claiming that the character Sam plays is akin to the LTTE and the hashtag “Family Man 2 Against Tamilians” started trending.
Naam Thamizhar Katchi head Seeman has gone one step further and has sent out a strong warning that 'The Family Man 2' is in fact showing the LTTE in poor light and pointing out that the uniform that Samantha wears resembles the Sri Lankan outfit closely.
Seeman has demanded that 'The Family Man 2' should not be allowed to stream and should be banned and has warned severe repercussions if it does. He has stated that previously two such films 'Inam' and 'Madras Cafe' that attempted to tarnish the image of the LTTE have been banned and it should be the same for this one too.
It's an anxious fortnight now for not only the makers and streamers of 'The Family Man 2' but also for Samantha fans who hoped to watch her as a villain for the second time after the disastrous 'Pathu Endrathukkulla'.
