Samantha races to second spot amongst highest paid South Indian actress

For quite a few years now Nayanthara has remained at the top as the highest paid actress in South Indian cinema.  She is said to be charging around rupees five to six crores for a film.  On the top of that the films that she herself produces bring in many times that amount in profits.

It is now been reported that Samantha has raced to the top to take the second place amongst the highest paid actresses in the South.  She is said to be charging a cool rupees three crores per film.  It is already known that she was paid a whopping rupees one and a half crores for her special appearance in the song ‘Oo Antava” in Allu Arjun’s ‘Pushpa’.

After her divorce from Naga Chaitanya, Samantha is keen to do more female centric films and is currently doing ‘Yashoda’ and another untitled bilingual film headlining the cast.   In Tamil her next release is Vignesh Shivan’s ‘Kaathu Vaakula Rendu Kadhal’ costarring Vijay Sethupathi and Nayanthara which is releasing on April 28th this year.
