Actress Sai Pallavi who is fast rising in the ranks as the number one female star in Telugu cinema courted controversy by her statements regarding the movie 'Kashmir Files' and the mob lynching o the minority people in UP due to cow vigilantism.
Veteran actress-politician Vijayashanthi slammed Sai Pallavi on Twitter writing “How can beating up a thief and a mother beating up a son for committing a mistake can be similar? Do you treat the thief and mother in the same manner?” It is heard that the people who get financial benefits from Sai Pallavi’s film (Virata Parvam) are trying to sensationalise her statements on The Kashmir Files and make their film get attention"
Sai Pallavi has issued a clarification video on Instagram and wrote "“Here is my clarification! I wish you all happiness, peace and love!”. She stated “This is the first time that I am getting in touch with all to clarify something and I think this will be the first time that I will be thinking twice before I speak my heart because I am anxious that my words might be misinterpreted. So forgive me, if I take longer than usual to communicate my thoughts."
The pretty actress added " In a recent interview, I was asked whether I was a supporter of the Left or the Right Wing and I clearly stated that I believe I am neutral and we need to be good human beings first before we identify ourselves with our beliefs. And the oppressed need to be protected at any cost."
Sai Pallavi's new movie 'Virata Parvam' in which she plays a young girl drawn towards a fiery naxal leader played by Rana Daggubatti opened to positive reviews worldwide. In Tamil she will next pair up with Sivakarthikeyan in 'SK 21' produced by Kamal Haasan and directed by Rajkumar Periyasamy.
