Draupadi fame actress recalls attacked by 18 people and suffering brain injury

Actress Roopa Ganguly reacting to the Palghar incident in which two sadhus and their driver was lynched by a mob, recalled her own experience of being attacked. She has written on her Twitter page "I have been remembering, for the past few days, May 22, 2016’s Diamond Harbour incident. 17 to 18 people, along with the police, had pulled me out of my car and beat me up on the road. They ransacked the car. I had to suffer two brain hemorrhages. Only, I did not die. I am a rally driver, I snuck out of there. Feeling sad about West Bengal and Palghar."
Roopa Ganguly is famous for playing Draupadi in the epic mega serial 'Mahabharat' that was telecast on DD several years ago and is now being re-telecast during the coronavirus lockdown days. She has also shared that "Watching 'Mahabharat' , feeling nostalgic simpleton, girl from a very moderate background, scared of Hindhi language. Today's generation, even if don't like to watch a costume drama plz do hear each & every word,of the dialogues.". Roopa Ganguly is currently a politician belonging to the BJP party and is a Rajya Sabha Member of the Parliament from West Bengal.
