Actress Ranjana Natchiyaar is in the cine and television field for several years and her most recent appearances were in Rajinikanth's 'Annaathe', Suriya's 'Etharkkum Thunindhavan' and Hip Hop Tamizha Aadhi's 'Natpe Thunai' and 'Sivakumarin Sabatham'. She has also acted in several serials including 'Peranbu', 'Kuladheivam' and 'Sillunu Oru Kadhal'.

Ranjana got married to one Suresh Kumar 17 years ago and has two teenaged daughters. The actress who has sustained injuries spoke to the press making shocking allegations against her in laws. Accordingly her father in law Saravanavel over the years has tried to exploit her sexually and when she complained to her mother in law Shanti she ignored it and instead of warning her husband they both told her since she is an actress she can indulge in his fancies.

Ranjana then showed a video of Saravanavel assaulting her with a log and stated that the old man had stripped her naked and tried to exploit her. When she resisted he attacked and injured her and she had to undergo treatment at a hospital. The actress claims that the police are not taking action against her inlaws for years together since her mother in law's close relative is a high ranking police official.

The Mangadu police based on the actress and her daughter's complaint have registered a case and are on the lookout for Saravanavel and Shanti who are absconding. The case has shocked the film and television industry.
