The film industry which is already reeling due to the coronavirus pandemic lockdown and the death of important members due to the virus now has to deal with another big issue. On August 21st the Narcotics Control Bureau arrested drug peddlers in Karnataka including a television actress and from a diary that was confiscated it came to be known that several celebrities are using drugs during parties.
Director Indrajit Lankesh then made a sensational statement that famous actors, directors and music directors were involved and offered to reveal names. He was summoned by the Central Crime Branch (CCB) and after an inquiry has informed that he will be needed once more for further inquiries.
On Wednesday popular Kannada actress Ragini Dwivedi was summoned by the CCB with regards to the drug case and this is due to her friend Ravi being arrested earlier and after recording his statement. It is said that the actress will be grilled by the authorities soon.
Ragini Dwivedi apart from a number of Kannada films has also acted as one of Jayam Ravi's pairs in 'Nimirndhu Nil' directed by Samuthirakani and also starring Amala Paul.
