"Do it with your heart I say*
This is the story... Joining for a Diploma in Kuchipudi was my very first professional course in the stream of dance. After the convocation at Alliance University, Bengaluru I took a very risky and strong decision in my life... to pursue a Master Degree in Kuchipudi. As it was a regular course I had to ‘shift completely’ from Kerala to Bengaluru. Trust me... those were the beautiful days in my life! Learning, unlearning, relearning... the process was hard but enjoyable. There was no shortcut for success.
While doing Masters I joined for Diploma in Carnatic Music as well. After the pass out of both the courses I became ‘addicted to learn’ more in dance and related subjects. Many have called me crazy but still I urged for that...Next I joined for Diploma in Bharathanatyam in Reva University,Bengaluru.Again the questions came..why Bharathanatyam? That too diploma? You already have a Master Degree in Kuchipudi and you passed NET as well...then why? I was like...no learning is small, it’s not in the title but in the content! I Passed out Diploma in Bharathanatyam and with no doubt joined for Diploma in Mohiniyattam.. *and now the happy news is I passed Diploma in Mohiniyattam from Reva University Bengaluru with distinction @9.74 CGPA*.
Please don’t think I have stopped learning.. I have joined for Diploma in Indology too. Along with this I am pursuing an add on course in Master Level by MOOC in Film studies and Animation as well. Though I am a full time Kuchipudi performer and choreographer I learn other art forms too to know it in depth and to understand the style in detail so that I would have a thorough knowledge of what is what ! This helps me to understand Kuchipudi more as well!
So this is what I intend to share... if you feel like knowing something more..learn it! LEARN IT NOW! This is the right time and do it with your heart!
Thanks to all my respected Acharyas who have guided me till this moment. Thanks to Amma and Acha. Thanks to my dearest friends who have always undergone through my crazy talks and deeds in the learning process. Thanks to my Srishti family and my students of Srishti for making me a better learner.#happydancer"
