It is common for leading actresses to say in interviews that they chose the profession due to their passion for the arts. But a popular and busy Tamil actress has openly stated that she was lured by money into tinsel town.
Priya Bhavani Shankar made her debut as an actress in the Tamil film industry with the romantic comedy 'Meyadha Maan'. After that she acted in many hit films including 'Kadaikutty Singham', 'Monster', 'Oh Manapenney', 'Yaanai', and most recently 'Thirchirambalam' in which she played a small but crucial role.
Priya in her latest interview has stated " Initially, I was not worried about whether the fans would accept me or not, I acted for money because I known actresses are well paid". She also added that she agreed to the small role in 'Thiruchitrambalam' becase she likes films that reflect real life. Her perception is now changed "I think I should work much harder as I am an outsider and even those with a strong film background are struggling a lot to prove themselves in the film industry."
Priya has an interesting lineup of upcoming films that include Simbu's 'Pathu Thala', Kamal Haasan's' Indian 2', Arulnithi's 'Demonte Colony', Jayam Ravi's 'Agilan' and Raghava Lawrence's 'Rudhran'.
