A popular actress has made a shocking allegation of rape by a businessman and has sought the help of the Prime Minister fearing for her life. Bangladeshi actress Pori Moni whose real name is Samsunnahar Smriti is one of the leading young talents in the Banga film industry. She has acted in over twenty films in the lead roles and has also been named one of the 100 most influential celebrities in Asia by Forbes.
Pori Moni has accused businessman Nasir U Mahmood of attempting to rape her and has sought the help of Bangladeshi Prime Minister Sheik Hasina fearing for her life. According to DT “Nasir U Mahmud, former president of Uttara Club Limited and a businessman named Omi wanted to rape and murder me," the actress told reporters at her residence late on Sunday.
Pori Moni claimed she, along with Omi and a make-up artist named Jimmy went to the club on June 8, when she was introduced to some of Omi’s acquaintances, who were drinking.

Pori Moni took to Facebook seeking justice from Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.whom she addressed as "Mother" “I was about two and a half years old when my mother died. Today, I need a mother. Please save me.I was physically assaulted. There was an attempt to rape and murder me. I want justice,” she wrote. “Where will I seek justice?” she said in the post before adding: “I couldn’t find it in the last four days … Everyone listens to the details and does nothing.”
Moni also claimed that she tried to file a case in the Banani police station shortly after the incident but it was denied, adding that no one had helped her.“I can’t commit suicide, if you get any news of my death, for sure, I’ll be killed by these guys, anytime, as I’m threatened by Nasiruddin,” she said. The police have reportedly arrested Nasir and four other accused and have started an investigation after the actress's press meet and appeal to the PM.
