Oviya is without any doubt the most popular celebrity contestant ever in the three seasons of 'Bigg Boss' shows hosted by Kamal Haasan. It can be said that she gained more media mileage on the show than her acting career and still has her Oviya Army intact on social media.

The bubbly actress on Sunday made critical comments on 'Bigg Boss' by asking her fans "Do you agree or disagree to ban big boss show?" and later added, "I wish they should not torture contestants until commit suicide for TRP". Today a social media user asked Oviya on Twtiter "Can we know, why are u making this statement after 3 years madam ?? U cud have said it immediately after 2017 BB1 right madam ??. The '90ML' actress replied "How can I say this sir.Dey ve already declared I was mentally unstable when I left the show.. now also I'm saying this for my satisfaction. I know nothing a gonna change In this toxic manipulative world of cooperative companies"

Another user referring to actress Madhumitha's suicide attempt on 'Bigg Boss 3' commented "Madhumitha did for publicity". To this Oviya has replied "Noone will cut their own hand for publicity" Yet another user commented that without 'Bigg Boss' Oviya would not have gained so much popularity to which she has replied that the lives of contestants is more important than being popular.

Oviya has then written regarding the contract of 'Bigg Boss' "A contract paper should not be the license to put someone in mental trauma or make dem commit suicide.every life matters! I'm not saying to ban the show.atleat show some mercy sir!we are all human"

The question on netizens mind once again is why Oviya is raking up the 'Bigg Boss' issue now and what could have triggered her to comment these when the show is not even happening this year so far due to the coronavirus pandemic.
