Leading South Indian actress Nayanthara, has now reportedly entered the movie theater business and has bought her first property in Chennai. It is said that she along with her husband Vignesh Shivan purchased the old Agasthiya theater in North Chennai under their production company Rowdy Pictures.
Nayanthara apart from reigning as the Lady Superstar is also a serial entrepreneur who has made investments in several businesses. Now the theater business is the latest one she has ventured into. Agasthiya theater owned by the Devi theater group functioned in the North Chennai area from 1967 and has screened innumerable blockbuster hit movies of Tamil cinema luminaries right from MGR, Sivaji Ganesan to Rajini, Kamal and Ajith and Vijay. The single screen theater suffered from the coronavirus pandemic lockdowns and was shut down in 2020 after 53 years of entertaining patrons.
Nayanthara plans to renovate the theater and convert it into a two-screen facility and since its a huge property both the screens together can accommodate over a thousand viewers. Here is wishing Nayan and Vicky the very best on their new venture.
Nayanthara is currently starring opposite Shah Rukh Khan in Atlee's Hindi film 'Jawaan' costarring Vijay Sethupathi which is releasing on September 7th. She is currently starring in 'Lady Superstar 75' and 'The Test' which is her first film with R. Madhavan.
