Police complaint lodged against Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivan

On October 9th, actress Nayanthara's husband filmmaker Vignesh Shivan annnounced that they have become parents to twin sons. Ever since that, controversies have erupted that they have given birth through surrogacy since its only four months since the couple tied the knot.

Questions were raised with doubts that the stringent rules for surrogacy in India may have been violated by the celebrity couple. TN health minister M. Subramaniam constituted a three member committee to make inquiries and the first level was conducted at a private hospital in Chennai where the children were reportedly born. It was also said that if necessary the actress and the director would be summoned in person to explain their stand.

Meanwhile one Charles Alexander the head of the Advocates Union has lodged a commplaint at the City Commissioners Office. In the petition he has pointed out that couples should opt for surrogacy only after a year of marriage and after legally ascertaining that they cannot have a baby naturally. Hence he has claimed that Nayan and Vicky's case is illegal as they got married only four months ago and that they are setting a bad example for the youth and the culture.

On the profesional front Nayanthara is currently acting in a number of movies that include Shah Rukh Khan's 'Jawan', Jayam Ravi's 'Iraivan', 'Connect' and 'Lady Superstar 75'. Vignesh Shivan on the other hand is gearing up to direct Ajith Kumar in 'AK 62' produced by Lyca Productions for which Anirudh is scoring the music.
