Namitha made her debut opposite Captain Vijayakanth in 'Enga Anna' in 2004 and tasted instant success and she went on to star opposite Thalapathy Vijay in 'Azhagiya Thamizh Magan' and Thala Ajith in 'Billa'. The friendly actress who calls her fans Machaans once again came into the limelight after participating as a contestant in 'Bigg Boss' hosted by Kamal Haasan.

After 'Bigg Boss', Namitha married her longtime boyfriend Veerendra Chowdhary in 2017, and the couple is living happily and share their loving pics from time to time. Namitha's recent post is to celebrate a special day and she has shared a pic of Veerendra lying on the floor face down and Namitha sitting on him comfortably.

Namitha who is also active in politics recently quit the ADMK and has switched allegiance to the BJP and has been made a state executive member in Tamil Nadu.
