Popular south Indian actress Miya's father George Joseph passed away on Tuesday. He was 75. Reportedly, he was under treatment for age-related ailments for about a week. It may be remembered that Joseph had actively participated in the first wedding anniversary celebrations of Miya and her son’s baptism function which was recent. The funeral will be held at Kottayam district on Wednesday.

Miya, who started her acting career with the television serials 'Alphonsamma' and 'Kunjali Marakkar', rose to fame with her notable roles in movies such as 'Oru Small Family' (2010), 'Doctor Love' (2011), and 'Ee Adutha Kaalathu' (2012). She got her first lead role in the film Chettayees. She was last seen in the Malayalam movie Driving License. She is awaiting the release of actor Chiyaan Vikram's 'Cobra'. Miya George tied the knot with businessman Ashwin Philip on September 12, 2020. The couple is blessed with a baby boy named Luca Philip.
