Actress Miya got engaged to Kottayam-based entrepreneur Ashwin Philip amid lockdown. The engagement was a low-key ceremony at the groom's residence. The couple is now prepping up for their wedding in September.

The adorable couple recently appeared together on the cover page of a popular Malayalam magazine Vanitha. The pictures from the photoshoot had even gone viral on social media. Now, in a recent interview with TOI, the actress spoke about her fiance and how they are bonding with each other amid lockdown.

“I think friendship set the base for a good relationship, not just in a marriage, but even between children and parents. Since it is an arranged marriage, we wanted to have the time to talk to each other before deciding to marry, but now we have much more time to bond and to get to know each other better. If it was in a normal scenario, even before I could say ‘hello’ over the phone, I would have been called to give my shot. Now, since I was at home with plenty of free time, we are talking a lot,” Miya said in the interview.

The actress is now having good family time and also planning and discussions on the marriage. Talking about her fiance Ashwin, Miya said that he is a straightforward, genuine, caring and a man with progressive thoughts. “If someone offered me a biscuit, I would have it, even if I don’t like it just to please them, but Ashwin wouldn’t. He is frank about what he doesn’t like. I really like it when he is genuine with me," said Miya.

On the work front, Miya was working in a Tamil movie before the lockdown was declared.
