She is all of eighteen, proud of being a Tamilian and is making heads turn in Hollywood with her acting in the Netflix Original 'Never Have I Ever'.  Meet Maitreyi Ramakrishnan who is a scream as the lead character Devi Vishwakumar in 'Never Have I Ever' hailed as one of the most promising young actresses in Hollywood today.

Maitreyi was born on 28th December 2001 in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada to Tamil parents who settled in the country as refugees after the ravaging civil war in Sri Lanka.  It was so traumatic to her that she has stated in interviews that she identifies as Tamil Canadian only.

When Mindy Kaling wanted to cast her lead heroine in 'Never Have I Ever' she set an open audition and 15000 girls applied to play the Tamil girl in the series but it was Maitreyi who impressed her the most.  After getting rave reviews for her performances it is going to be a matter of time when Hollywood biggies come calling and talks are already said to be on with big production houses.
