The victim is Prabhakaran, a 28-year-old cabbie, who was ferrying Vishnupriya whenever she was there in Kodaikanal to oversee the affairs at a resort owned by her father. The police recently received a missing complaint from Prabhakaran's family members. This is when they searched for him, only to find his abandoned car in a hill area. After making repeated calls and SMS to the victim's number and getting no reply, they traced the cellphone tower and found his body with his throat slit thrown 50 feet below!

On further investigation, it was revealed that Suriyanarayanan, the actress's father, had paid three killers Rs. 3.5 lakhs and 13 cents land to finish off Prabhakaran. Suriyanarayanan committed the crime because he was angry that his actress-daughter Vishnupriya, who is already married, was involved in an illegal relationship with Prabhakaran.

Vishnupriya has acted as a physically disabled person in the Bala produced 'Maayavi' with Suriya and Jyothika. She is married to Rameshkrishnan of Thiruvanmiyur and has two children. It is said that the husband has been suffering from mental illness.
