The Coronavirus pandemic has caused unprecedented strife globally with close to eighty thousand people dead and the economies hurt so badly that livelihood and essentials have quickly become a question mark. In Kollywood while most celebrities are staying at home and enjoying the rare time with family the working class is in turmoil as a majority of them are daily wage earners who have now lost a month's income and are in the danger of losing many more.

Veteran actress Kutty Padmini has released a video in which she has appealed to top stars Rajini, Kamal, Vijay and Ajith to contribute generously to the Nadigar Sangam to help the actors who are in poverty to get food and essentials. She has shared that Ishari Ganesh has contributed 10 lakh rupees and actor Karthi 2 Lakhs and other smaller actors and actresses have pooled in whatever they can and the older actresses Poornima, Udaya, Latha, and Sangeetha have also given one lakh.

Kutty Padmini has requested humbly to Ajith, Vijay, Kamal, and Rajini to join together which would solve the problems of the needy in the Nadigar Sangam. We will have to wait and see what the four big stars decide on this count.
