The entertainment industry is numbed with shock as depression has caused an actress to murder her 18-year-old daughter and commit suicide. Pradnya Parkar was a small-time actress in the Marathi television industry and it is said that she did not find any work for the past several months. An already depressed Pradnya is said to have been further affected by her husband Prashant's financial troubles and also came to know he was having an affair with another woman.

The husband Prashant has stated that he came back from the gym and found his wife hanging dead from the ceiling fan and his daughter Shruti lying lifeless on the bed. The Thane police have stated that a suicide note has been found in the Kalwa residence of the actress in Gauri Suman Society in which she has admitted to suffocating her daughter a higher secondary school student to death and also killing herself due to depression. A case has been registered and investigations are on to find out if there is any foul play in the matter.
