Actress Khushboo was to campaign for the BJP ahead of the elections in Tamil Nadu. It was a shock for many when reports started arriving that she was withdrawing from the campaign. According to sources, Khushboo wrote a "heartfelt" letter to BJP National President JP Nadda, citing the "health concerns" that arose out of her "leg injury" in a 2019 accident in Delhi.

With Tamil Nadu elections approaching D-day on April 19, political foment is running high, with parties rallying thick and fast for support. Her sudden withdrawal was quite unexpected, given that she had been actively campaigning for BJP candidates throughout the state for the past few days. In her letter, she regretted that her long-term injury had kept her physically from making a contribution for the last five years.

Though she stepped back from direct campaigning, Khushboo had made it very clear that she was committed to the party's cause and would be doing so with the social media platform in order to continue her efforts for the BJP's policies and programs. This decision of hers, therefore, emphasizes the challenge that health issues pose in the middle of a very important election battle, but she is determined that she will continue to support the BJP's efforts.
