Various scams are taking place on social media using the photos of movie celebrities. One such shocking scam has been planned and executed by a woman impersonating top South Indian actress Keerthy Suresh.

Manjula hailing from Hassan district of Karnataka started a Facebook account with actress Keerthy Suresh's photo as a DP after a little bit of editing. She had sent friend requests to men from that account. Parasurama from Vijayapur district of the state accepted the request sent and soon started dating her online. Manjula lied to Parasurama that she is a college student and the duo started interacting on WhatsApp.

Manjula slowly proposed love to Parasurama and the man under the assumption that he is dating a college girl started sending her gifts. She then started extorting money from him under the pretext of paying college fees. Parasurama, caught in the love trap, sent money whenever she asked.

As time went by Manjula recorded a video of Parasurama taking a bath in the nude and started blackmailing him. Tired of sending lakhs of rupees the scam victim filed a police complaint stating he could not bear Manjula's torture.

The cybercrime police started an investigation and arrested Manjula when it was revealed that she was not a college girl but was married with two children. It has been further revealed that Manjula's husband was also involved in the scam. The cops are on the lookout for the husband who is absconding.

It is reported that Manjula, has been living a luxurious life with a car, bike and 100 grams of gold, was also carrying out house construction work with the money she extorted. The police are also holding inquiries whether she has cheated anyone else in this manner.
