It was reported earlier that Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan has left for the USA to prepare for his long pending project 'Indian 2' directed by Shankar. It is the direct sequel to Kamal & Shankar's 1996 blockbuster, starring Kajal Aggarwal, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Rakul Preet Singh, Bobby Simha, Siddharth and Samuthirakani.

As per the latest reports, Udhayanidhi Stalin's Red Giant Movies has teamed up with Lyca Productions to finish the pending works for the movie. Meanwhile, there were rumours online regarding Kajal Aggarwal's role in Indian 2 as she was pregnant earlier. The trending talk is that Kajal has confirmed her presence in the project in her recent Instagram live.

The actress also revealed that the makers are planning to resume the shooting on September 13 via her Instagram live as well. On the other hand, the team has to look for replacements for the roles of comedian Vivek and Malayalam actor Nedumudi Venu as they passed away in 2021. Anirudh is scoring music for Indian 2 while Rathnavelu and Ravi Varman crank the camera.
