Few days back, it was announced that actor Randeep Hooda has started filming for his upcoming film 'Swatantra Veer Savarkar' and now there has been a new development in this project. Actress Ankita Lokhande, who is known for her television roles has joined the cast of this film. Ankita has previously worked on films like 'Manikarnika' and 'Baaghi 3' and she is super excited for this new role.

She told IANS, "I love essaying challenging and pivotal characters that not just take the narrative forward but also leave an impact on the audience. ‘Swatantra Veer Savarkar’ is one such inspiring story that needs to be told and I’m happy to be associated with it."

Based on the life of freedom fighter Vinayak Damodar Savarkar, the film will be helmed by Randeep Hooda. Apart from that, Hooda is also playing the lead role in it. Initially the film was supposed to be directed by Mahesh Manjrekar, who had to walk out for some reason.

Bankrolled by Anand Pandit Motion Pictures and Legend Studios, Producers Anand Pandit, Sandeep Singh, and Sam Khan, 'Swatantra Veer Savarkar' is all set to release on May 26, 2023.
