The Egmore Court in Chennai has sentenced veteran a actress, who has acted in hundreds of films in Hindi and South Indian languages. The case has created a sensation in the film industry.
Actress Jayapradha originally hailing from AP has acted in several Tamil films including Kamal Haasan's 'Manmatha Leelai', 'Salangai Oli', 'Ninaithale Inikum' and 'Dasavatharam' apart from numerous Hindi, Malayalam, Kannada and Telugu films. It is noteworthy that she is also a politician in the Bharatiya Janata Party.
Jayapradha owns a theater in Chennai with her name and a complaint was filed againsther by the State Insurance Corporation for not paying the ESI amount to the theater staff. A case was registered against her on this complaint which went on for years. In this situation today, the Egmore court has issued an order to jail the actress and former MP for six months. Sources say that Jayapradha is expected to appeal against this verdict.
