Actress gets divorce

A court in Chennai granted divorce to Swarnamalya.

A television anchor turned actress who became popular after acting in Manirathnam's Alaipayuthey, she married an software professional a few years ago and settled in the USA.

However, following difference of opinions with him, she was back in Chennai only to make a comeback in Kollywood. She took to glamour roles and had offers coming her way.

Meanwhile, she filed a case for divorce in a court here. Swarnamalya, who was in the news for all the wrong reasons, played Vijayakanth's sister in Engal Anna and is currently busy acting in nearly half-a-dozen movies.

She was granted divorce by the court when the case came up for hearing Monday.
