Actress Devayani made her Tamil movie debut in 1994 with the Karthik-Raghuvaran-Revathi starrer 'Thotta Sinungi' directed by K.S. Adhiyaman. She played an ultra glamourous role in the film and her subsequent films in Hindi, Malayalam and Tamil were also in the same vein.

However Devayani's big break came in 1996 when she played the homely small town girl who falls in love with the hero played by Ajith Kumar only through letters. The film changed the destiny of both the actors who made it big with Ajith going on to become one of the biggest superstars in history.

After that Devyani starred in mostly homely characters and also got married to director Rajakumaran in 2001. The couple have two children and the talented actress continued her acting journey in the small screens and is one of the highest paid.

Devyani after a gap is making a comeback in the new mega serial 'Pudhu Pudhu Arthangal' to be telecast on Zee Tamil from March 22nd. The serial is produced by Xavier Britto under the banner Esthel Entertainments.

Xavier Britto's 'Master' starring Thalapathy Vijay and Vijay Sethupathi produced under his other banner XB Film Creators has become one of the biggest blockbusters in Tamil cinema. He is now planned to produce films and television serials regularly and announcements are expected to come one after the other.
