Veteran actress Deepa who made her debut in 1975 with the Kamal Haasan starrer 'Antharangam' went on to act in hundreds of films in all South Indian languages. She has starred opposite Sivakumar in 'Rosaapoo Ravikaikari', Rajinikanth in 'Johnny' and 'Ullasa Paravaigal' with Kamal Haasan. She usually portrayed glamorous and vamp roles.

In later years her most memorable role was in K. Bhagyaraj's cult classic 'Munthanai Mudichu' in which though her role was that of glamorous teacher it also had emotional connect.

Deepa whose real name is Unni Mary got married to college professor Rejoy in 1982. The couple have a son Nirmal who is married to Ranjini and they have a son Rihan.
