Actors Beena Antony and Manoj are one of the most adored celeb couples of Mollywood. On Tuesday, Manoj shared an emotional video saying that his wife Beena Antony "had been having a tough time battling COVID-19". The actress had tested positive for Covid-19 and is undergoing treatment at a private hospital.

In the video, Manoj bursts into tears as he narrates that the family had been going through a very bad situation after Beena tested positive for the deadly virus. Beena developed COVID-19 symptoms after she returned from a movie shoot before the lockdown was announced. After her RT – PCR results came back positive, the actress got admitted to the hospital. The actress developed early signs of pneumonia on both sides of the lungs and her condition was becoming severe with each passing day. Initially, the actress was unaware of her serious health condition, said Manoj, who added that he didn't share his pain with anybody else in the family.

Manoj added that his sister and her kid had earlier tested positive for Covid-19. Since their condition was stable and recovered easily, everybody expected the same to happen for Beena as well. After she got exhausted and her oxygen level started dropping, Manoj put on his brave mask and convinced her to get admitted to the hospital. A few days after Beena was admitted, the hospital authorities called Manoj and asked him to shift the actress to another hospital as her pneumonia wasn’t showing any signs of subsiding. Also, the hospital warned that they were running out of ICU beds just in case if she needed one. As the surging Covid-19 cases had already exhausted the facilities at most hospitals, the ICU facility was nowhere available.

“Thankfully, Beena got better in the next few days. She was saved only by the grace of God. It is God who entrusted her in the hands of such good doctors,” said Manoj, who also urged the public to not take the disease lightly. “I am sharing this with you so that you don’t have to go through what I have suffered during the past few days. I couldn’t even be with my wife to console her. I request everyone to be aware of the seriousness of the situation and stay safe,” concluded Manoj.
