Police on Tuesday have arrested the husband of an actress and his friend for murdering her in cold blood and then putting the body to flames. A charred body of a woman was found near the Kaladhungi area of Nainital on January 30th. After post mortem, the body was identified as that of Anita Singh a Punjabi television actress.

CCTV footage showed that Anita had travelled with two men in a white car and when the owner was traced he gave the information that it was borrowed by his relative Ravinder Singh who turned out to be the husband of the deceased. Ravinder Singh has confessed that he got angry when Anita wanted to move to Mumbai for acting chances and also suspected that she was having an affair with a Kashmiri man.

Ravinder hatched a plan and took Anita to a dhaba in Nainital telling her that his friend Kuldeep had contacts in Bollywood and help her get movie offers. The duo then had spiked her tea with sedatives and then took her in the car to an isolated place where they first strangled her to death and then set her body on fire using car engine oil.
