Popular actress Amalapal had lodged a complaint in Villupuram police station against Punjabi singer Bhavninder Singh a while ago. In the complaint, she had mentioned that her former friend Bhavninder Singh was threatening her and extorting money using the intimate photos and videos he had taken with her.

Following this, the police registered a case and arrested singer Bhavninder Singh and put him in jail. The accused had filed a bail petition that came for hearing on Tuesday. His advocate has submitted evidences that Bhavninder Singh and Amal Paul married each other according to Punjabi customs in 2017. It was also argued that the couple are estranged due to personal incompatibilty and not due to any financial frauds as alleged by the actress. Sexual harassment charges have also been denied.
